Most people know him from one other role before this one: Johnny Ola in The Godfather Part II, a connection Sopranos fans love pointing out since both are mob dramas about the same Italian-American world a generation apart.

Chianese is also a trained singer, and he has released several albums of Italian and Neapolitan songs over the years. He performed some of that material on the show itself, including Junior's memorable scenes at the piano.
