NJ filming locations, trip planning notes, and local context from someone who grew up near most of the real spots. This is not a recap newsletter and it is not affiliate blast emails every Tuesday. You get mail when a location changes, when a new episode guide ships, or when a tour operator worth comparing enters the market.
Subscribers also get first notice when we publish a revised self-guided map PDF. That file is the same route we give friends visiting from out of state: Holsten's, Satriale's corridor stops, the North Caldwell exterior, and a few optional detours if you have a second day.
Past issues, when they exist, will be linked from this page so you can catch up without digging through social feeds. Frequency target is roughly monthly during active location-update seasons, quieter in winter unless a major guide ships.

The NJ focus
Most Sopranos newsletters lean on episode recaps, character takes, or general HBO content. This one is narrower: the primary subject is the physical New Jersey geography the show used. That means filming location updates (a diner closed, a building got a new facade), trip route notes from people who have actually driven the stops, and context about what the real places looked like versus how they appear on screen.
The show was filmed across Essex, Hudson, and Union counties with additional locations in Bergen County and Staten Island. Several exterior locations remain unchanged and are worth visiting. Others are gone or unrecognizable. The newsletter covers that gap between what old blog posts say is still there and what you find when you actually pull into the parking lot.
If you are planning a NJ trip around the show, subscribing before you go means you get current information rather than outdated blog posts from 2009. Location status changes without notice: restaurants close, storefronts repaint, landmarks get demolished. We update when we can verify a change.

We work with operators who cover the actual filming locations, not generic NJ tourism. If your tour includes Holsten's, the Bada Bing exterior corridor, or North Caldwell stops with accurate context, there is room to discuss a referral arrangement. Purely commercial inquiries unrelated to the show's geography are not considered.
