What tours actually cover
Most guided tours hit a consistent core set of public locations: Satin Dolls / Bada Bing exterior (Lodi), the Satriale's block (Kearny), Holsten's Diner (Bloomfield), and drive-bys of the North Caldwell residential area. Some include stops at the Soprano house exterior and the Pizzaland facade from the opening credits.
Tours do not include interior access to private properties or current businesses. Filming happened over two decades ago; respect residents and staff at every stop.
On Location Tours
On Location Tours has run a New Jersey Sopranos tour for years and is the most well-known dedicated operator. Check their current schedule directly - they occasionally pause the route.
Self-guided route overview
A self-guided day follows a rough arc: start at the Kearny/Satriale's area, work north to Lodi (Satin Dolls), cut east through Caldwell, finish in Bloomfield at Holsten's. See the full NJ trip guide for drive times, parking notes, and eating spots.
FAQ
- Is the Bada Bing still there?
- Satin Dolls in Lodi is real and was still operating as of 2025. The exterior is the one you recognize. It's a working business - call ahead and be respectful.
- Can I go inside Holsten's?
- Yes. Holsten's is a real diner in Bloomfield. Order something and tip well.
- Where was Satriale's Pork Store?
- The exterior was built on Kearny Avenue in Kearny, NJ. The set structure is gone; it's a regular block now. Worth a quick stop for context but there's nothing to see besides the street.
- Is the Soprano house a private home?
- Yes. It's in North Caldwell and people do live there. Drive-by only - do not knock, do not enter the property.
- Do I need a car?
- For anything self-guided: yes. The locations span multiple North Jersey towns and are not walkable between each other. EWR is the nearest major airport. See trip planning.
