While visiting colleges with Meadow, Tony spots a snitch. Carmela, meanwhile, discovers something about Dr. Melfi.
Plot
Tony drives Meadow through rural Maine on a college tour. She asks him directly during the drive whether he is in the Mafia. Tony gives her the waste-management answer and something slightly more honest underneath it -- an acknowledgment that some people in his world have broken the law. Meadow accepts this without pressing further. Their dynamic has a comfortable rhythm beneath the unease.
At a gas station, Tony recognizes Fabian Petrulio -- a former Soprano family associate who entered the federal Witness Protection Program after cooperating with the government. Tony drops Meadow at Colby College for her admissions visit and doubles back to confirm the identification. Petrulio is now going by Fred Peters and running a travel agency in a small Maine town. Tony calls Christopher from a pay phone. The identification is confirmed.
Tony finds Petrulio, makes contact, and eventually strangles him in the woods. He is back before Meadow finishes her campus tour. On the drive home Meadow is in good spirits, having met other prospective students. Back at the Soprano house, Carmela has spent the evening with Father Phil Intintola. Their intense friendship sits in the frame throughout the episode without crossing a visible line.
