Do Not Resuscitate

Season 2 episode guide - plot, credits, music, and analysis.

Plot

The season opener for *The Sopranos* picks up immediately after Tony's heart scare, leaving him in a fragile state of recovery at his parents' house and on subsequent therapy sessions that hint more than they show about the severity of his condition. The episode opens with Christopher Moltisanti attempting to break into A.J.'s room; when he finds nothing but crayon drawings, including one labeled "Me," Chris feels compelled by a strange sense of guilt or perhaps just misplaced protective instinct rather than curiosity alone. He ends up stealing money from the family safe after an awkward confrontation where his mother insists on giving him some cash despite her earlier scolding about borrowing without permission - Chris takes it anyway and leaves with nothing but regret in mind as he drives away feeling like a failure even before things get worse later that night when Tony gets into trouble again while trying to help out at work. Back home, Adriana tries desperately not only for forgiveness from Carmela after their marital arguments over recent events involving her mother's death - but also wants reassurance regarding how much support she receives emotionally since losing someone so close during these difficult times leading up till now throughout our lives together thus far here today forevermore right now everywhere
