Pussy returns after months in hiding, Chris starts a boiler room stock operation, and Tony's long-lost sister shows up on the doorstep.
Plot
Season Two opens on a montage of FBI surveillance footage: Tony at the diner, Christopher at Satriale's, Silvio at the Bada Bing. The feds are watching. Tony has been separated from Carmela and is living alone at the house, working on rebuilding their marriage from a distance. He is back in regular contact with Dr. Melfi after a gap.
Christopher Moltisanti's induction ceremony takes place with family capos present. He is officially made as a member of the DiMeo crime family -- a moment he has worked toward obsessively. In the ritual itself he seems genuinely moved. Tony watches with the formality the ceremony demands. Afterward the mood is celebratory but guarded given the federal heat.
Janice Soprano arrives from Seattle and installs herself in Livia's house as if she owns it. Livia is annoyed but cannot physically remove her. Tony regards Janice's arrival with wariness -- he knows his sister well enough to expect complications. Two young associates, Matthew Bevilaqua and Sean Gismonte, are introduced as ambitious men trying to prove themselves to the crew.
