Plot
The season opener for *Tales from a New York* hits an immediate nerve, though not necessarily one of anger or shock - more like awkwardness and confusion that permeates every scene in this episode titled "Toodle-Fucking-Oo." The Soprano family is trying to navigate the waters after Tony's brief stint on the run following his botched hitman mission. He has returned home from hiding, but he isn't exactly back himself yet; things are still tense at the house as Meadow and A.J.'s behavioral issues loom large over their father's mind while Carmela attempts her own form of penance for Tony's recent crimes by trying to help him quit smoking with a strict no-smoking rule. At the restaurant, we see Melfi sitting in on dinner one night at Lucks Cafe where she meets up with some girlfriends who have been drinking heavily together after work hours when they spot someone familiar outside looking back into them from across town - it's Tony himself! Instead of panicking or keeping quiet about what just happened between these two people given how dangerous the situation could be considering mob rules around psychiatrists, Melfi goes ahead and says hello to him right there in front everyone at that table full Italian guys including her own boyfriend who happens also happen work for same company as Tony's girlfriend. It creates quite bit awkward tension among those present since nobody knew exactly why both characters ended up meeting each other again under such circumstances after all the drama surrounding their past encounters involving mob hitmen hunting down anyone involved with psychiatrists recently before getting caught red-handed doing so themselves earlier this season arc already played out fully within previous episode alone! Meanwhile back home, Tony continues struggling adjusting life post-hiding mode while dealing stress related issues stemming from his son's acting problems causing him unnecessary worry about future prospects career-wise for young man trying find footing himself amidst chaos created by father's constant interference into everything he does nowadays including sports teams joining local league competitions organized throughout Jersey Shore towns where kids play baseball games every weekend season long stretching far beyond summer break timeframes usually associated with high school athletics programs across America today.Credits
