Richie Aprile gets out after ten years in prison and starts reasserting his authority while unaware of the changes made in the crime...
Plot
Richie Aprile gives away a car belonging to Dave Scatino -- a high-end vehicle Scatino recently bought -- simply because he could. Beansie Gaeta, an old friend who runs a pizza restaurant, is Richie's next target. Richie assaults Beansie outside the restaurant and when Beansie tries to drive away, Richie runs over him with a car, leaving him permanently disabled. Tony learns of this after the fact and is furious.
Meadow is starting at Columbia University. Her roommate Caitlin is from a sheltered background and struggles with the adjustment to city life, becoming increasingly distressed. Meadow is patient at first but finds it exhausting to manage someone else's crisis while dealing with her own transition. Hunter Scangarelo also appears as Meadow's connection to her high school life.
Tony summons Richie and tells him Beansie is off limits going forward. Richie takes the conversation as a formal acknowledgment that Tony holds real power, but his body language throughout signals that he considers Tony's authority provisional. He will comply for now. Tony is watching. Tony and Carmela are still in the early stages of rebuilding their marriage, operating carefully around each other at home.
