Plot
Tony's affair with Gloria Trillo, a car saleswoman he met in Dr. Melfi's waiting room, has deteriorated into something frightening. Gloria is volatile and intense, and as the relationship breaks down, her behavior becomes threatening. She shows up at the Soprano house. She calls Tony repeatedly. She threatens to tell Carmela everything. Tony is caught between guilt about the affair and genuine fear of what Gloria might do.
Tony sends Patsy Parisi to speak with Gloria. Patsy lost his brother to Tony's order and carries a private resentment he has never acted on. When Patsy delivers Tony's message -- that Gloria will be killed if she continues on this path -- he does it with quiet menace. Gloria is shaken into silence. The relationship ends. Tony feels relief and, underneath it, some recognition that he always chooses control over connection.
Jackie Aprile Jr. is spiraling. He is playing poker with the crew, borrowing money he cannot repay, and making choices that everyone around him can see are fatal in the literal and figurative sense. Tony watches but has not yet decided what to do. Meadow still presents Jackie as improving and trying. Tony does not know how to tell his daughter what he already sees clearly.
