Christopher and Carmine travel to Hollywood to take the next step in making their movie but quickly realize they're out of their depth....
Plot
Christopher Moltisanti goes to Hollywood with Little Carmine Lupertazzi to pursue a film deal. Christopher has always wanted to work in the entertainment industry -- his screenplay and his Hollywood connections from the D-Girl episode have never fully left his imagination. He and Little Carmine attend industry events and meet with a producer.
Ben Kingsley appears in the episode as himself, attending a party where Christopher pitches a project. Alec Baldwin is also present. Christopher's encounter with actual famous people strips away some of the glamour he has projected onto the entertainment world. These are people operating inside their own hierarchy, and Christopher's version of power does not transfer well. He observes this and is partly disappointed and partly amused.
Back in New Jersey, Artie Bucco has a conflict with a French chef who is competing for the same clientele and culinary standing Artie has spent years building. The Artie subplot is handled with warmth and some comedy. Tony continues to recover. The episode gives the series a chance to look at Christopher from a distance -- ambitious, restless, loyal to an organization that will never fully contain what he wants to be.
