Tony hires help from overseas to fulfill a favor he was asked for by Johnny Sack and decides whether one of his top earners deserves...
Plot
Vito Spatafore, one of Tony's most reliable soldiers, is spotted at a gay bar in New Hampshire by two members of the crew. Word spreads immediately. In the world of the Soprano family, this is not treated as a personal matter -- it is a liability and, by the old codes, grounds for execution. Phil Leotardo of the New York family is particularly enraged and vocal about wanting Vito dead.
Tony faces a genuine dilemma. Vito has been one of the top earners in the family for years. Killing him for being gay is, from a purely business perspective, idiotic. But not killing him, or being seen to tolerate what Phil considers unforgivable, damages Tony's credibility with New York and with his own crew. Tony tries to buy time while Vito has already fled.
Vito is driving north, putting distance between himself and New Jersey, not yet sure where he is going or what he will do. Tony at home is managing the fallout of the revelation while still recovering from his physical injuries. The crew is divided between those who think Vito should be killed and those who think the earnings argument is too strong to ignore. The show will follow Vito into what happens when he tries to build something new elsewhere.
